Rudrani is a storyteller and an advocate for migrant rights, hailing from the city of Kolkata, in India. At Next100, she focuses on increasing access to affordable and dignified housing for refugees and asylum seekers. Rudrani also works to expand economic stability and educational resources for migrant communities, shaped by her experience as a first-generation immigrant from a low-income family.

In addition to policy, Rudrani’s work as a photojournalist covers the impacts of forced migration, due to conflict and climate, in South Asia. Her ongoing project highlights the communal resilience of villagers who face a cycle of displacement due to rising sea levels and annual monsoon floods on the island village of Susua, in central Bangladesh. Previously, Rudrani worked as a case manager with the San Francisco Homeless Outreach Team, helping connect people experiencing homelessness, severe mental illness, and substance use to permanent housing and supportive services. Rudrani holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and an M.A. in International Affairs from Columbia University.
