Tabitha is the deputy director at Next100, a think tank and leadership development program that’s strengthening policymaking by centering the vision and expertise of those with the most at stake. Tabitha has researched, written about, and led advocacy campaigns on improving transportation as a means of advancing racial, gender, and economic equality.

Before joining Next100, Tabitha was deputy executive director at TransitCenter, a foundation focused on improving public transit to make U.S. cities more just and sustainable. There, she co-led a campaign to improve local bus service in New York City that resulted in the Metropolitan Transit Authority’s bus network redesigns and a commitment from the New York City Department of Transportation to significantly expand and strengthen the bus lane network. Tabitha previously directed IHP Cities in the 21st Century: People, Planning, and Politics, a comparative urban studies program based in New York, São Paulo, Cape Town, Hanoi, Ahmedabad, Buenos Aires, and Dakar.

Tabitha is on the board of Spring Street Climate Fund, on the advisory board of New Yorkers United for Child Care, and is a member of Brooklyn Community Board 2. She’s a first-generation college graduate, a working parent, and someone who believes in the power of people working together to realize a fairer world. Tabitha has a BA in international relations from Wellesley College and a PhD in sociology from Yale University.
