Sofie Fashana named 2024 FosterClub Outstanding Young Leader

Sofie Fashana was awarded the 2024 FosterClub Outstanding Young Leaders Award, recognizing her as one of 50 impactful leaders who are making a difference for foster youth across the country. This award recognizes individuals with lived experience who work to improve the foster care system through advocacy, volunteer work, and policy change.

Sofie Fashana was awarded the 2024 Outstanding Young Leader award by  FosterClub in recognition of her resilience, leadership, and dedication to improving the lives of other foster youth. Inspired by her own lived experiences, Sofie is an advocate for more dignified and autonomous solutions for foster youth that truly enable them to have a voice and determine their own destiny. 

 

As an Outstanding Leader, Sofie will have the opportunity to interface with the FosterClub community and further her work within this dynamic network. She will also have opportunities to participate in various  FosterClub projects aimed at advancing policy and improving the national child welfare system.

At Next100, her work centers around dismantling systems that dehumanize, and replacing them with initiatives that empower and uplift, especially for foster youth and the unhoused. Sofie's personal experience with homelessness fuels her passion for policy change.
