Dan Mathis Quoted in The Miami Herald

The Miami Herald spoke to Next100 policy entrepreneur Dan Mathis about flood risk disclosure policies and actions states can take to better protect renters before and after floods.

As a part of a series on flooding in South Florida, The Miami Herald’s Alex Harris and Anacaona Rodriguez Martinez recently wrote on the flood risks facing Miami, the impact of these disasters on the region’s most vulnerable communities, and how the state of Florida lags the nation in making residents aware of the flood risks facing their homes. They spoke to Next100 policy entrepreneur Dan Mathis about his work on flood disclosure policies and quoted him in two articles. Dan summarizes the need for new, more comprehensive policies:

“Why wait for the next disaster to enact this sort of legislation?”
