Lucy Muirhead is chief strategy officer at Next100. Lucy has been a part of Next100 since before it existed, serving on the team at The Century Foundation (TCF) that helped build and shape Next100 from the ground up back in 2018-19. She is passionate about opening up traditionally elitist policy spaces to new and historically excluded voices.

In her dual role as chief strategy officer at TCF, Lucy has been a part of major transformations at the organization, including the creation of Next100 and several other new initiatives designed to bring lived experience and community voices to the policy table. She was also previously a board member at the Resilience Advocacy Project, working to build a platform for NYC’s low-income youth of color to transform systems that stifle their potential through community power.

Prior to TCF, Lucy served as deputy chief of staff and communications director to the state Labor Party leader in New South Wales (NSW), the largest state in her home country Australia. She worked as a senior ministerial adviser in the NSW government and as a communications consultant and client manager for Essential Media Communications, where she coordinated national and state based campaigns on behalf of trade unions, environment groups, and NGOs. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of Technology Sydney.
