Marcela Mulholland Supports “Green New Deal for Public Housing” in Op-Ed

Next100 policy entrepreneur Marcela Mulholland and NYCHA resident Jasmin Sanchez co-authored an op-ed in the New York Daily News making the case for building climate resiliency, improving living conditions for public housing residents, and creating thousands of good-paying jobs.

On the same day that Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Senator Bernie Sanders introduce the Green New Deal for Public Housing Act, Next100 policy entrepreneur Marcela Mulholland and NYCHA resident Jasmin Sanchez co-authored an op-ed in the New York Daily News making the case for building climate resiliency, improving living conditions for public housing residents, and creating thousands of good-paying jobs.

“By directly addressing the needs of working-class communities and tackling climate change and housing justice concurrently, the Public Housing Green New Deal Act shows that intersectional climate solutions are the future of climate policy. We know firsthand the need for an intersectional approach to climate solutions. Our personal experiences show that people do not live single-issue lives. We deserve quality, affordable housing and a stable climate.”
