Dan was a policy entrepreneur at Next100 and a housing advocate interested in making sure that everyone has access to a safe and affordable home. At Next100, Dan’s work focused on advancing housing policy that takes climate change and community engagement to heart. He is working to expand planning efforts that center the voices of communities of color—particularly those that are physically and socially vulnerable—in preparing for and mitigating the threat of climate change.

Dan draws on his lived experience growing up in a hyper-segregated coastal community to advance work in the areas of racial equity and climate justice in housing. He is a native Floridian and previously worked for an affordable housing coalition in his home state. He also started a consultancy, Neighborhood Figures, to better engage communities of color in community development decision-making. 

Dan is a graduate of the historically Black Florida A&M University, has a master’s degree from the Hough Graduate School of Business at the University of Florida, and a JD from the University of Michigan Law School.
