There is a coming surge of green jobs, but the public workforce system is not ready to leverage this moment to advance equity.

Next100 associate director of strategy and operations Daniel Munczek Edelman penned a piece for The Nation on how the public workforce system is failing environmental justice communities, and on how it could do better. Dan writes:

“Comprehensive climate policy must not only include funding for jobs; it must also create pathways into them—particularly for people of color, women, and other groups in vulnerable communities who have not historically gained employment from infrastructure investment.”
